Fine Art Miracles is a non-profit organization, that is Creative Expression and Social Robotics to enhance communication and overall well-being, while decreasing inhibition and loneliness for patients with Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
The project's purpose is to help caregivers communicate more effectively with people living with Alzheimer's Disease and advanced dementias.
Even though the project requested my graphic design support, I have used my UX knowledge to make the manuals very easy to read, usable and comprehensible for all users (experienced & non-experienced), while also listening to Tess's desires.
After the manual/workbook was complete, it was sent to different facilities for professionals and caregivers to try it out and after the testing, changes were made accordingly by Tess and/or her associates.
Before completing the project I made sure to provide Tess with all the necessary materials and documents in different formats to make the changes herself, without having to request any technical help.
My contribution to the cause consisted of:
→ Manual creation for both Caregivers and Professionals
→ Creating necessary pages, layouts, document design elements
N.B. all the pictures, drawings and elements used in the manuals came from the artworks of the Alzheimer's disease and dementia patients.
